Helpful guide for new Macbook Pro owners. by Madeleine Ling
This is probably a must have if you’re not a computer whiz (which I am certainly not) and you decide to make the switch to Mac. I love my Macbook and will never look back but it’s still a steep learning curve to start. The OS X tiger bible is an easy to read reference for the essential problems you may encounter and can’t work out on your own. I highly recommend this book.
Not what I expected by J. M. Nelson
I found the Missing Manual much easier to use and had more topic in the index that I needed. The “Bible” seemed always not to have an answer to my questions. The query on Disk Image led me to completely abandon the “Bible” as inadequately indexed, if not inadequate in content.
I found more listings and quickly resolved my problem via the index in the Missing Manual. Next time, I will buy the Missing Manual only.
A necessary 1st step for new Mac users. by David A. Schultz
Why doesn’t Apple make a book like this? even on a CD included with the computer? These are powerful machines, yet it takes a 3rd party to explain how to use that power.
I was going to give this book a 4, until I remembered this is for 1st time users of Macs (which I am) and that it covers such a breadth of subjects (including network connections and the Automator) that I figured it deserves a 5.
TOO Complicated by Donald Shelley
I got this book along with MAC OS X “The Missing Manuel”, and I use that book more then the Bible. The Bible has some good things in it, but it is sometimes hard to understand, and I don’t like the layout as well.
